ARTIO is a software company, which is specialized in two major areas: implementation of open-source projects for individual customers including development of extensions for these systems, and custom development and programming.
We focus mainly to databases and information systems in client-server or service oriented (SOA) environments, dealing with information management, sharing, exchange, utilization, data mining and publishing in Internet, Intranet or for mobiles. This includes applications like content management (CMS), document management (DMS), e-commerce, ERP, data exchange interfaces, payment gateways, etc.
We offer either ready-made solutions based on open-source, own or 3rd party products, or individual development and solution design tailor-made to clients' needs and requests.
Open-Source Implementation & Development
ARTIO specializes in development and implementation of open-source software projects. The philosophy behind the open-source for us is not to reinvent the wheel, but to be able to use and combine the best features available. Open-source does not equal free - but it offers independence on a single vendor, more flexibility, re-use of existing software components and freedom. Still, using open-source often helps to reduce the total cost and offers better ROI in long term run.
What does open-source implementation mean in the real life? Starts with listening to clients needs, the analyze it, suggest use of the possible existing systems, install it, configure and if needed, do necessary adjustments and customizations. We primary use the following open-source platforms: Joomla (CMS, DMS), Magento (e-commerce B2B and B2C) and Openbravo (ERP system).
Why do we favor open-source? Simply because we do not want software to look like a magic or to bind client with strict license obligations. We want to be transparent to our customers - in what we do, how we do it, tools we use and rates we charge.

Software development and programming is the other of ARTIO's main activities. This includes major adjustments and customization of either our own or third party products, or complete on-demand development services. These include analysis based on the customer needs, solution design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance.
Mostly we develop specialized information systems, databases or web applications, however, we can handle also related desktop or mobile utilities or software for special purpose systems.

Website Design & Development
We also offer website design and web development services for organizations, public and government institutions, municipalities (towns and cities), companies or private web-pages. Our aim and advantage is ability to offer our customers full portfolio of web-related services, such as consultations, web-design, web development, web-hosting, site maintenance, SEO and on-line site marketing or regular security updates.
The web pages we create are usually based on some of the Content Management Systems (CMS), that enable the web administrators to manage and update the website easily, without need of special web-design or web development knowledge and skills.
