TOPIC: Invalid pdf - cannot be opened by Acrobat

Invalid pdf - cannot be opened by Acrobat 3 months ago #50702

Hello,

my client noticed, that pdfs generated by VMInvoice can sometimes not be opened by Acrobat, it stops with an error message "Error on page", nothing more specific. The client also found, if he sends the pdf a second time from the backend, it will work fine.

I checked one of the bad pdfs with an online tool and got this:

File Web Shop Order.pdf
Compliance pdf1.7
Result Document does not conform to PDF/A.
Details
Validating file "Web Shop Order.pdf" for conformance level pdf1.7
The "endobj" keyword is missing.
The value of the key FontFile2 must not be of type integer.
The embedded font program 'AAAAAC+FreeSans' cannot be read.
The embedded font program 'AAAAAD+FreeSans,Bold' cannot be read.
The key Encoding has a value Identity-H which is prohibited.
The document does not conform to the requested standard.
The document doesn't conform to the PDF reference (missing required entries, wrong value types, etc.).
The document contains fonts without embedded font programs or encoding information (CMAPs).
The document does not conform to the PDF 1.7 standard.
Done.

Checking a pdf that can be opened with Acrobat also validates with this checker.

Any idea why this fails when a pdf is sent for the first time and not for subsequent generations?

Thank you!

Ralf
