I have been trying hard to solve this before posting in the forums but I had no luck.

My problem is that although I have enabled redirecting to home page for all 404 pages, this doesn't work.
Let me explain what I have tried.

1. 404 Page -> (Front Page) and

This is ignored by joomsef unless I choose "No" for "Parse Joomla SEO links?" in advanced tab.

Even in that case, all pages are redirected to front page BUT the page url doesn't change.
For example example.com/test shows example.com but the url remains as example.com/test which is bad for SEO as we have multiple urs pointing to the same content. I need the page to actually redirect and not just rewrite the content.

2. I have tried to add "ErrorDocument 404 /index.php" in my .htaccess file but this is ignored.
If I disable joomsef this works!

Any ideas?

Well, as I said, I don't want to re-register to a different url. I want to change my testing site url which is actually just changing from being inside a folder to the root url.
This should be free of charge as testing is about testing. And changing folder is part of the testing.

I solved the problem myself (I hope it does not appear again) but I wonder what is the purpose of this forum...
4 Days and no answer. I like joomsef but I feel on my own in terms of support.

For your information,

if I delete the sef url created (without item id) from backend and let it be recreated it is created correctly.
So the problem is clearly when saving from frond end.

I have latest joomsef installed (4.4.0) and latest k2 extention installed (3.0.13)
My k2 version is 2.5.7. I didn't have the chance to upgrade yet.
My joomla version is latest (Joomla! 2.5.9)

The problem I'm facing is that when I create a new k2 item from frontend, item id is not saved for the url.
When I do it from backend item id is created fine.
This is a major problem as all k2 items are connected now to the home button (as no item id is present)

Regarding Greek language problem, you are right. It is a K2 bug with the Greek Language.

This component is about creating tables with data in joomla. When Joomsef is enabled I cannot edit any cells in table even if I choose "Default Joomla Router" or even "Component's Router".
This was working fine with previous joomsef. Now I had to choose "Not Using SEF" in order to be able to edit my tables.
The component if free. You can try it.

K2 popup has now been fixed.

Sorry to hijack this thread with various problems but a new one has introduced now. I'm using a component which I have as "Default Joomla! router" in manage extensions as I don't want joomsef to handle it. Before the upgrade to latest joomsef it was working just fine. Now it doesn't. If I disable joomsef it works fine. So now I had to change status to "Not Using Sef" in order to work. I haven't investigated all my components yet but it seems the new joomsef introduced errors that were not there before. I just wishe I had never upgraded.

I have checkec that yes. This has nonthing to do with the problem. This setting is not language dependant. As I said when having english language as default everything works fine.
Furthermore, If I disable joomsef and choose greek language as default again everything works fine which clearly indicates this is a joomsef bug.

And now a bew bug was introduced! Cannot close k2 popup by pressing close or x when joomsef is enabled! Please do something! Too many bugs

I installed the new version. The language change now works but there is still a major problem with timezones.

If I choose the Greek Language as default then all k2 articles' created time goes back 2 hours.
If I choose the English Language as default then all times are shown correctly.

I can't use it like that! I reverted back to English language waiting for another fix!

Problem not Solved!

Your solution messes up the dates. Some dates are saved with timezone (create date) and some don't (publish date).

I'm using K2.

I reverted back to English and I'm waiting for a proper solution.

Your solution did the trick but just to let you know, Greek is default now no matter what a user selects for language. I suppose this will be fixed at the next version. Right?
