Hello,

While installing joomDOC I was taken to a completely blank page after I installed it. I then hit my browser back button and joomDOC appears in my components menu however clicking any of the menu options goes to a completely blank page as well.

I turned on error reporting and receive the following error when clicking any menu option for joomDOC:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/tt/www/mysite.com/administrator/components/com_joomdoc/classes/DOCMAN_compat.class.php on line 31

I do have DOCman (original) installed but I am assuming that both can be installed since I read that joomDOC comes with a migrator script.

Below is my system info:

PHP Built on: FreeBSD .securesites.net 6.3-RELEASE FreeBSD 6.3-RELEASE #2: Wed Jun 25 14:30:46 MDT 2008 root@fc:/usr/src/sys/i386/compile/VKERN i386

Could this be a php4 issue? I cannot upgrade to 5 yet until I get this new site up.

Thank you for your assistance,

Mark

I am wondering if it is possible to exclude some categories from being searched in joomDOC when using the integrated joomDOC search not the joomla search. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Thank you for your help!

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has an idea of how to install both the original docman as well as joomDOC. I tried installing joomDOC on a site which already uses the original docman but it gave me errors saying the joomdoc folders were already being used by another extension (the original docman).

The reason I want to use both is because I have a "downloads" section on my site which uses docman and I have some "other" files that I don't want related with my "downloads" section but I use docman to serve them. My problem is in the search (not the joomla search but the actual integrated search). I only want the categories in my "downloads" section to be search-able by the integrated search and not my "other" files/categories.

I will actually make another post regarding being able to exclude certain category searches in joomDOC but I am just giving my reason for this post.

Thank you for any ideas!

Mark
