Hello,
You can use the variables filtering to set up the allowed variables and their values (using regular expressions) for each component, so when someone enters the non-SEF URL with some incorrect parameters, it will not be converted to SEF and stored in the database.
The internal links allow you to assign words for each SEF link and those words will be automatically converted to links to the associated SEF URLs on your website.
