Hi David,
we pasted the SEF-ones!

It´s a system that will carry a very big amount of data, so it`s not practicable to "translate" every Item to the Joomla-Type.

We solved the problem (for the moment), by using the Xmap-Sitemap Component and klicking the sitemap-Link of a hidden Menu, that contains all the article-item Links of the system, after every Change.
But i think of writing a hack- or maybe a fully compatible sef-extension that can verify -and store- a missing SEF-Link by "looking" into the database and , after that, pasting it into the SEF-Cache.

What ever; i thank you for your Time! :-)

Best regards,

Hello there,
first please excuse my bad english! --> i try my very best to explane and understand!

Our JoomSEF ist configured to build Urls by section and category. This works fine, if a link to "section/category/article.html" is present in a menu!
But when theres NO Menu-Link, and i try to go to "section/category/article.html" the system throws a 404!

For example:
i´ve linked to "section/category/article.html" in a module (theres no link to the content in menu) --> after klicking this link i have the correct url in the address-bar like "www.example.com/section/category/article.html", but site throws a 404!
But if i link this article to a menu and klick on it, everything is ok! --> then i have the correct content shown and the correct address in the address-bar!

Question:
Is it impossible to reach content, if its not linked in a Joomla-Menu?

Joomla-Version: 1.5.20 Stable
Artio-JoomSEF: 3.7.4
php is running as cgi (5.2.4)

Thank you very much for your help!
