Isn't this possible yet? Ok, not automatically, but manually it works.
I do my uploads mostly via ftp to the document path. After this I create new (empty) documents and then select the uploaded file inside the field "file". That's it ....

just did a successfull migration on a test system from Docman to Joomdoc (1078 documents, 29 (sub-)catagories). Absolut NO problems or errors, good job, thanks a lot!

Now I'm waiting for the migration of the plugin DocLink. Any chance that you give us a new version for Joomdoc?
Also waiting for some moduls like Latest-/Top Downloads.
