To elaborate on this problem further.

At some expense I had a developer address the issue with the modules not rendering the URL's correctly. He corrected this, ensuring that the URL's in the modules generated the URL's with full categories and subcategories.

This hasn't fixed the problem.

After recrawling the site and looking at JoomSEF's logs here is an example:

Test Listing:
index.php?option=com_sobipro&sid=2859&Itemid=569

and then

Test Listing:
index.php?option=com_sobipro&pid=1&sid=2859&Itemid=569

These are both the same listing.

Then looking in the crawl log:

www.domain.com/oceania/australia/victori...lbourne/test-listing

www.domain.com/test-listing/page-2

www.domain.com/test-listing

Three URL's for the same listing, the last two shouldn't even exist.

The only modules that interact with SobiPro and show URL's have been modified - All other modules on the site don't have anything to do with SobiPro.

Really could use some help with this as I can't put the site back online until I understand what the problem is and how to fix.

Naturally each time I'm doing these crawls I'm clearing cache of Joomla and Joomsef etc. I've also gone as far as ripping out the canonical header code in SobiPro as I thought that might have been casuing issues.

Hello,

I've been using Joomsef for some time, works great.

However, recently, I recently redesigned the site with a new template and introduced several modules.

The main component on my site is SobiPro which I am using as a places/location directory and it makes use of Geolocation modules (Radius search).

Modules for 1) "Places Near" (radius search) 2) "Latest Places" 3) "Latest Reviews" 4) Geofactory Google Map with markers with links to the places (entries).

The general structure of listings is Main Category > Subcat > Subcat > Listing Page

Joomsef has generated URL's perfectly until recently where it's started to generate URL's for places without any categories/subcategories attached.

E.g. The correct URL for "test bar" in Europe > United Kingdom > London > Soho > TEST BAR

www.domain.com/europe/united-kingdom/london/soho/test-bar

Now I'll have that URL in addition to this as:

www.domain.com//test-bar

In some cases it's even generated URL's for one or the other and not both.

So the problems are duplicate content and sometimes content not existing with the correct URL at all.

The Latest Places, Nearest Places and Map Module - These naturally all contain hyperlinks to the listings they are displaying, these links don't contain the proper URL - They show the direct URL only, with no cats or subcats (e.g. same as the example I gave above - www.domain.com//test-bar)

I had someone look at this and he said he thought it was due to the modules (Latest Places, "Places Near" and map module) generating a PID of 1 and that was causing the problems. Unfortunately he's gone out of contact and I am stuck with a site with some 19000 URL's with these issues and I'm not sure what to do.

I am guessing that if I could "exlcude" these modules from being picked up by Joomsef it would fix the problem? Is this correct? If so, how can I do this?

I did some reading before posting this message and I noticed you state setting Exclude source info (Itemid) to NO may help - Setting this to NO causes problems with modules not appearing on pages.Ignore multiple sources (Itemids) is and always has been set to YES. Suffice to say I'm tried a few combinations and purged the URL's many times and not been able to fix this.

If someone could help me out I'd really appreciate it.

Hello

Having quite a big issue with this plug in which is holding up a site migration. Would appreciate some help with this as soon as possible.

The problem is I cannot get the "All Categories" option to display in the "Add category to URL" option.

My assumption is that if I have an entry located in a subcategory of say "London", whose parent category is "England", then the "All Categories" option should produce a the sef url that looks like "..england/london/nameofthentry"

Is this correct? Is the All Categories option supposed to work in the way mentioned above? If so, I would appreciate if you have any hints as to why it is not working. I can also send a PM with login credentials if needed.

Whatever I've tried I only get the last category like this "..london/nameofthentry"

(All cache has been disabled including Sobipro Accelarator)

Thanks for your time,
Kostas

Hello,

I'm using the latest version of the Joomsef CB module.

I've appended /community/ to the profile URL's it generates.

E.G.

www.domain.com/community/profile-name

These work just fine and if anyone encounters a profile link on the site (kunena etc.) it takes them to the profile.

However, the CB login module/user account module (when you login it shows the profile picture that the user can click on to take them to their profile) does not contain the username so it generates the following URL when the user clicks their profile picture (or UPDATE PROFILE link etc.)

www.domain.com/community/

This is obviously generating a broken URL.

Could you tell me how to fix this?

Thanks,

Tom

Thanks Dajo.

One (promise!) last Mosets question;

I noticed during the upgrade some URL's on the original site had /view-details added to the end of the listing URL. E.G.

www.domain.com/europe/united-kingdom/lon...ng-name/view-details

This affects about 200 URL's - Joomsef correctly removes this /view-details from the end of each URL.

Is there anyway to set Joomsef to automatically forward any requests for URL's with /view-details to the correct without /view-details

E.G.

A request for:

www.domain.com/europe/united-kingdom/lon...ng-name/view-details

Automatically gets redirected to

www.domain.com/europe/united-kingdom/london/listing-name/

Fantastic, thanks Dajo - All appears to be working now.

Just one last question;

The settings I showed you for the Mosets plugin

LISTING NAME 1ST PART - ALIAS
LISTING NAME 2ND PART - TITLE
LISTING NAME 3RD PART - ---

Are these set right for this URL formatting:

www.domain.com/europe/united-kingdom/wal...ardiff/listing-name?

That appears to be the format at the moment which is what I want, but I wanted to double check that those settings are set right to achieve that format incase something pops up later?

Thanks

Thanks you very much for the quick reply dajo.

Number 1 is now fixed - Thank you for that.

Regarding 3. I've tested this out some more and the problem is still present but now it appears when I click on a listing (from sub-category page) it DOES SOME

TIMES load a listing but not the right listing (it appears to randomly pick a listing from the sub-category page - Though the listing is within the city subcategory).

I've attached 2 screenshots.

SS1: This is when I simply open the sub-category "Cardiff" - All of these are generated (Cardiff sub-category has 12 listings on the page)

SS2: This is when I attempt to open a listing - It sometimes opens the listing (but not the right one, it'll pick one - Other times it'll not open any listing and simply reload the page).

Please disregard Point 2 - I added the link incorrectly. The other 2 issues stand.

Hello,

After struggling with sh404sef and compatibility with Mosets 3.0.6 I'm giving Joomsef a try.

I am using the latest version of Joomla 2.5, Mosets 3.0.6 and latest version of Joomsef and the Mosets plugin you offer.

Joomla global configuration page has SEARCH ENGINE FRIENDLY URL'S to "Yes" / USE URL REWRITING to "No" / ADD SUFFIX TO URL to "No" / UNICODE ALIASES to "No" / INCLUDE SITE NAME IN PAGE TITLES to "No"

Immediately after installing Joomsef 4 and the Mosets plugin I've hit a few problems.

I use Mosets as a directory for bars all over the world.

My main menu is comprised of the following:

Europe
North America
South America
Asia & Middle East
Oceania
Africa

These are all Mosets categories and are added to the mainmenu via ADD NEW MENU ITEM - COMPONENT (MOSETS) - CATEGORY

The URL's when sh404sef was handling the url's were as follows:

Europe - www.domain.com/europe
North America - www.domain.com/north-america
South America - www.domain.com/south-america
Asia & Middle East - www.domain.com/asia-middle-east
Oceania - www.domain.com/oceania
Africa - www.domain.com/africa

Listings would then appear like:

www.domain.com/europe/united-kingdom/london/coffeecoffee
(coffeecoffee being the name of the listing / listing details page)

This is exactly what I am looking to replicate in Joomsef.

1) The first problem when I re-added the EUROPE link to the menu was that is added it as follows:

www.domain.com/europe/europe

How would I remove the second "europe" there?

2) After adding the Europe item to the main menu, it worked initially but now when I click on it, it takes me to the Mosets "Add Listing" page for some reason?

3) When I naviagate through the Mosets directory and reach a subcategory page with listings on it, the listings titles (which you would click on to take you to the listing details page/view listing page) are not linking to anything. Basically, Joomsef isn't recognising that it is a listing and when clicking on it it just reloads the category page?

E.G. www.domain.com/europe/united-kingdom/london/coffeecoffee - Which would be the listing page for "Coffee Coffee" - When I naviagate manually to the sub-category (london) that has this listing, if I hover over the listing the URL for the "Coffee Coffee" listing is "www.domain.com/europe/united-kingdom/london/" - There is no link to the listing itself?

Please could you advise me how I can fix these problems.

Many thanks
