How do I set the default search settings for the JoomDoc Document List? At the top of the Doucment List is a search tool. It opens set to search everywhere in the Title and Text for Any Word.

Many of my users just type in a keyword or two and get a whole lot of results back.

I would like the default search settings to be search everywhere but include Title, Text, and Full Text, for All Words.

Do I have to edit a template file to do this or is there a setting somewhere?

Good news! Adding the type="submit" to the reset button works! I didn't modify the Submit since it was already working. The search now resets correctly in IE.

Thank you!

A few more observations:

In Firefox on Ubuntu when I reset the page seems to do a refresh. All the fields including the drop downs go blank for an instant then the page refreshes and shows the top level folders.

In IE it seems to be clearing all the fields, but does not refresh. On IE I click the reset and all the fields clear, and just stay blank.

Is there another script that is suppose to monitor something and refresh when it sees the change? It may be IE is not running that script correctly.

Thanks for the info Maju! Unfortunately it didn't fix the problem. It does work to collapse/close the document search, but my results still did not reset to show me the original folders. Here's what I did:

1. Clicked a link that brought up the JoomDOC module and showed me the top level of folders.
2. Opened search and did a search, the folders were replaced with the result of the search.
3. Clicked Reset on the search. The fields cleared and the search collapsed, but the results remained. It did not reset back to my top level folders.
4. I re-opened the search and found keywords field was still populated.

I am positive that when I clicked the reset the Keywords field did go blank. It's like IE has the keywords saved somewhere and even though you delete the keyword from the screen, IE doesn't really see it as gone. Maybe something in how it caches or refreshes the page?

The document search works perfectly on Ubuntu v12.10 using Firefox. It just appears to be an IE or Windows problem.

Using: Joomla 2.5.7 / JoomDoc 3.4.1 Pro

Hello, I've got another one for you. This one might truely be a bug. I am uploading a zip file to JoomDOC that contains 1 folder and 1 file in that folder. I click the extract check box too. The folder gets created but I get a copy failed on the file. See the attached image.

I figured out the problem on my own and just thought I'd share!

My folder names had comas and parenthesis in them. Some process in Joomla or JoomDOC is stripping the charaters. So the folder named: Baqir, Raiz, (MD) on my hard drive is uploaded and becomes Baqir Raiz MD in JoomDOC. I'm guessing the ZIP extracted to the temp folder with the punctuation in it, but JoomDOC stripped it so when it goes to the temp folder using the stripped name it can't find the file because the stripped name doesn't exist.

So I removed the punctuation from the folder name, rezipped it and it uploaded perfectly!

What folder and file is the reset button in?

Do you have a script you can share?

Thanks!

Using: Joomla 2.5.7 / JoomDoc 3.4.1 Pro

If a user has IE 7 or IE 8, and does a Document Search, then clicks the Reset, the search fields clear, but the results continue to display. They cannot get back to the normal view were they can browse through folders. I have a menu option that should take you back to the top of the JoomDOC tree, but it also displays the search results. If I close IE and reopen it works fine until you do another search.

I've only had problems on IE 7 on a WIndows 2003 RDP server and IE 8 on a Windows 2008 RDP server, I haven't tried IE 9. I also haven't tested it from a Windows desktop OS yet. However my users will be accessing this page on the RDP servers, so I need to try and find a solution. Firefox on Ubuntu and Google Chrome on Windows works fine.

Thank you,

Chris

I looked at the options and see there is a field for File Deleting and the options are Trash and Force. Do I understand this correct? If I have Trash selected it sets the state to -2, but if I set it to force, it's actually removed?

*Also just a note for others reading this thread, I had over 170 folder to recover. Fortunately they were all created at the same time so their ID numbers were consecutive (numbers 2950-3121). The following MySQL statement worked to make them visible again:

UPDATE plrpt_joomdoc_file SET state=1 WHERE id>2949 and id<3122

I viewed the table and executed the code using the MySQL module in WebMin on an Ubuntu Linux server.

I deleted a group of folders in JoomDOC. Then when I tried to recreate it with the same name it tells me it still exists, but I can't see it. How can I recreate a deleted folder?

I went to the document directory from the commandline and confirmed the folder is still there. I also looked at the database table and the folders have a status of -2.

Thanks,

Chris

Ok. I figured out it's processing the search info during upload. So how can I reprocess the files I uploaded before having catdoc loaded?

Hello, I'm brand new to Joomla and JoomDOC.

How do I activate the Full Text Search? It does not appear to be working on word files.

I have an Ubuntu Server with Joomla 2.57, and JoomDOC 3.41 Pro and catdoc.

In the JoomDOC component I enabled the Search option. When I open on the site and put in a keyword I know is in a word file and turn on the Full Text check box, it returns no results.

I uploaded the Word file before loading catdoc. Does JoomDOC create some index at upload? If so, how can I get it to reindex the files I already uploaded?

Thanks
