Kindly guide me as the following issue is causing me a lot of issue.
I have done 301 redirect of following url
www.edukart.com/courses/career-enhancement
to www.edukart.com/career-enhancement

But again it is taking to Home Page.

I have been stuck this issue for quite long.
And I have not been able to use aliases too. When I put aliases those also not work.

301 redirects need to be set as relative SEF URLs, without the domain, so:
From URL: courses/career-enhancement
To URL: career-enhancement

Also the From URL must not exist in JoomSEF's database as the 301 redirects have lower priority than existing SEF URLs.

I have tried it but still it is taking me to index.php only.
Manage 301 redirect
courses/retail-management to retail-management

Kindly see the attached htaccess file and also screenshot. I am facing a lot of trouble. Please help.

Other Issue

Earlier I was also facing the trouble that NON SEF url were also getting redirected to index.php. I modified the Plugin where you have used redirect method and instead I sent the header again and it worked like a charm. This was done in joomsef.php in component. Let me know if this is the correct way.

I'm sorry, but there's no file attached to your post.

You shouldn't need to modify the component's files for the 301 redirect to work. The redirect() method used there is the standard Joomla's function used for redirection, so if it doesn't work for you, there's probably some problem with your Joomla installation, or there's some plugin installed that overrides the method with its own.
