TOPIC: Download ID not set. Component Install: Custom...

Download ID not set. Component Install: Custom... 11 years, 1 month ago #37421

Hi,
I bought and downloaded successfully com jommsef4 (247ca581b13252fcdb5463d7b0c48179)
But when I try to install a component, appears to me an error:
Download ID not set.
Component Install: Custom install routine failure
How do I solve this problem?
I had installed version 3, with the upgrade to version fourth Domain is a recently collapsed and I lost JoomSEF component after backup. Then I decided to buy the new version 4, but now I can not install.
Please help me solve the problem. Thanks

Hi,

The error is being displayed when you try to update a currently installed JoomSEF with paid package and you don't have the Download ID set in current JoomSEF's Configuration.

Do you have some older version of JoomSEF currently installed? Do you see it in Components menu in Joomla?

After backup that made my hoster, I do not find the former JoomSEF component to component menu.
I can not find the old version installed in the root directory. What should I do?

There's probably some left-over data in your database.
So first backup your website in case something goes wrong.
Then use phpMyAdmin or some similar tool to access your database, open the (prefix)_extensions table, find the record with type=component and element=com_sef and delete it.
Then you should be able to install JoomSEF again.

I am having the same issues.

Went into the SQL database and the elements you reference are not there (therefore nothing to remove)

Ideas??
