TOPIC: SEF URLs for JcalPro

SEF URLs for JcalPro 10 years, 3 months ago #45146

Hi
Joomsef seems to have created thousands of url's like this:

x68/x74/x74/x70/x3a/x2f/x2f/x77/x77/x77/x2e/x74/x65/x69/x67/x6e/x64/x69/x76/x69/x6e/x67/x63/x65/x6e/x74/x72/x65/x2e/x63/x6f/x2e/x75/x6b/x2f/x63/x61/x6c/x65/x6e/x64/x61/x72/x2f/x65/x76/x65/x6e/x74/x73/x2f/x33/x37/x2d/x62/x6f/x61/x74/x2d/x64/x69/x76/x65/x73

Which are giving 404 errors

Why would these suddenly be created? how can I stop them?

THese do not seem to be the URL's on the front end of my website?

Mark

Hi,

I can't tell you why such URLs were created on your website. JoomSEF just creates SEF URLs for links that are displayed somewhere on your website. Sometimes this also happens when search bots try to access some non-existent pages on your website.

You should enable URLs Source Tracing in JoomSEF's Configuration on the Advanced tab, which will store some information about the origin of SEF URLs, so next time a SEF URL like this is created you can track how it happened.

Hi

These are the SEF URL's this is the trace information:

Referer: www.teigndivingcentre.co.uk/calendar/eve...nmouth/20521-galicia
User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/31.0.1650.63 Safari/537.36

This event has been live for months without producing these SEF URL's

THis seems to have happened after I tried to change the default handler for Jcal Pro.

Now I am unable to delete the urls, clear the cache I cant even filter the SEF URL logs by components?

Which Handler should I use?

How can I get the Joomsef buttons to function again?

Hi,

If the JCal Pro component doesn't have its own Joomla router, you should switch the handling to JoomSEF basic rewriting, Default Joomla router or Don't SEF depending on which one works the best for you.

Please refer to the other topic for the problem with buttons not working:
