MMMM,
do I have to enable the "System - Language Filter" plugin or will the "System Language - ARTIO JoomSEF" plugin take his place?

Yes you must disable System-Language filter. It's functionality has Artio JoomSEF.

Probably I'm doing something wrong because the multilanguage isn't working right.

  • When I get to the homepage it doesn't redirect me to the main language homepage.
  • When I go to the second language page it shows me the right article but all the modules are displayed in the main language and not the choosen one

There is another strange behavior, the SEF link generated for the second language (that is german) are like this:

de.htm de?option=com_content&catid=8&id=18&view=article&Itemid=140

If I try to change it adding the language an alert tells me that the non SEF url needs to start with index.php

I'll add some screenshot showing my configuration. All the ARTIO configuration I left default behavior except I added ".htm" as file suffix and the change made in the "Language" Tab.

About the menu I have 3 menus: one languages all, 1 language italiana and 1 language german, and all three have the default homepage
