TOPIC: Problem with SEF install

Problem with SEF install 17 years, 5 months ago #1153

Hi, I have been trying to install Artio SEF and get the following message:

Warning: copy(/home/webadmin/getmorejoboffers.com/html/
administrator/components/com_sef/images/box.png): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/webadmin/getmorejoboffers.com/html/
administrator/components/com_installer/installer.class.php on line 356

Warning: copy(/home/webadmin/getmorejoboffers.com/
html/administrator/components/com_sef/sef.xml): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/webadmin/getmorejoboffers.com/html/
administrator/components/com_installer/installer.class.php on line 356
Upload component - Failed

html/media/install_45950db6ecdc4/sef.xml to /home/webadmin/getmorejoboffers.com/
html/administrator/components/com_sef/sef.xml

I am not sure how to fix this. Could you please let me have any ideas?

Thanks

Hello,

seems that your Joomla! /component/ or /componeent/com_sef/ directories are unwriteable. Please make sure that the user account under which your webserver is running has sufficient permissions (read & write) in given directories. The user should be able to write at least to:

/administrator/components/
/mambots/system/
/components/

Also make sure that when the user creates new directory (com_sef), the directory has set the permissions so that more files can be written to it. This may be set under Joomla! global configuration or directly in your OS.

Best regards,
Honza
