I hate to hear that. I'm still waiting on anyone to help me with a similar post: www.artio.net/support-forums/joomsef/joo...3-etc-and-swmenufree and am getting worried that I'll have to unistall JoomSEF too.

I was finally able to get rid of the -2, -3, etc though I have no idea why it stopped. Now it's just recreating the same SEF url over and over. Ex. I have hundreds of urls my my privacy policy after deleting all of them only a couple of days ago. This isn't going to be manageable especially for a part time rookie.

Let us know how 404 does for you....in case I need to switch.

Was there ever an answer or fix for this issue? It seems similar to what I'm experiencing.

I have finally finished removing all of the -2 -3 etc. from my site. I'm now left with numerous real links feeding to the same SEF link. I have been going through using the alias tab to insert the real link onto one url and deleting the others but am finding that its not working and the previously deleted real urls are being recreated.

Here are some examples:

All of the links are in the alias tab on the first item and were deleted only minutes ago and have already reappeared. Why is this happening? What can I do?

Also, I want to start pushing my sitemap out to search engine's but am nervous to do so before I get this fixed. How will the duplicates display if I don't have them indexed? What would the impact to SEO/PR be?

Also, I've begun going through and changing the SEF url's to the consistent url it should point to (ie. removing the -2) so now I have numerous entries with the same SEF urls. What is the best way to consolidate down to one SEF url for each page?

I am using JoomSef (paid order #14716 ) version 3.7.6 with Kunena and swMenuFree extensions. I am getting a numer of pages generated ending with the -2, -3, -4, etc. I think its related to the swMenuFree extension but can't be sure. I've used the FAQ on this and have played with the variables. There doesn't appear to be an SEF extension for swMenuFree but I have it set to Default Joomla Router (though I have tested all the other options too). Can you provide guidance on how to solve or direct me to a plug in?

Also, is there another menu that is compatable that would be preferred?

Additional Details added: I just found that Kunena is also creating -2 etc pages for profiles, posts, etc. so and I've finally been able to get the menu working properly pointing to a standard set of pages. I've been editing the SEF urls to point to a consistent page url though that is creating duplicates with different sources/itemid's. I'm not yet sure if doing that for all my pages (500+) will solve the problem but I'm hoping for a response before I get that far!

I'm having a similar issue. I have yet to have any of the aliases i enter successfully redirected. I've read the documentation (very vague - more a feature list) and there's no information on why this could be happening.
