This issue only occurs in Production.. Does not show up in development with localhost and subdirectory..

If we set mainmenu item 1 to a static page, and com_frontpage is item 2, when you go to www.domain.com the default page brings your to the 2nd item..

Seems that in production com_frontpage trumps all others when going to the domain root.

I can provide you with a live example if this helps?

I think i have put in over 10 hours trying to come up with some sort of method to fixing this 1st menu items always redirecting to com_frontpage.

I just can't do it and have no idea's how to fix this for Joomla 1.0.. I've posted across other threads but can't find the solution anywhere.

Well, we tried sh404sef and put it through some vigorous testing.. We are not happy with sh404sef at all compared to Artio JoomSEF.

sh404sef has only 1 single selling point. You can make 1st menu items to be something other then com_frontpage in Joomla 1.0; that in which is not supported by JoomSEF.

Artio team, would you please, PLEASE make available some patch or fix to allow 1st menu items to be regular and/or static content items for Joomla 1.0.

We do not wish to use sh404sef but we had to use it over the past couple months due to this minor, yet critical function.

I've been a supporter of Artio since 2005.

Please write back, help us out.

Also, i'm willing to hack the code to make this com_frontpage default go away, but i don't know where to start. I tried replacing lines 63-64 (joomsef.php):

but that doesn't work.. when i do they i can't get the frontpage to work anymore, but the www.domain.com works as it should (directs me to the first menu item)

with the latest update i was hoping this issue would have been resolved for joomla 1.0.X.. its to bad b/c i might have to move over to sh404sef component instead. I really enjoyed this component as it was very reliable, unfortunately this major draw back on not allowing the first menu item to be something other then com_frontpage is a deal breaker..

In joomla 1.0, when i select 'mainmenu' there is no 'Default' item in the toolbar... ??

yes.. why can't i get www.domain.com to go to my 1st menu item??? Why does is always go to com_frontpage first?? My client used com_frontpage as the 2nd menu item in for is news page.. He does not com_frontpage as the 1st menu item..

I'm having the same problem... com_frontpage is the 2nd menu item in my list... when i goto www.example.com it takes me to com_frontpage.. Why won't it take me to the 1st item in mainmenu??

my online version is fine, but when transferring the database back to the dev. server, the majority of my links are broken..

i'm pretty sure is b/c the dev version is in a subdirectory and any SEO links that were creating on the pro server does not contain any subdirectories for the root folder..

any suggestions on how to configure my .htaccess file on our dev server would be appreciated.
