When I enabled the plugin after install

I get the following error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /homepages/5/d261477079/htdocs/mywebsite/plugins/system/gacode.php on line 16

I am running 1.5x

Please let me know either how to uninstall or fix this error. I can't get into joomla on the backend.

I figured it out:

public|private|protected are only available in PHP5, so you'll just have to use "var" if it's PHP4

Did this and it worked. I then uninstalled and my website is back up.

I will try the module instead.

Can You explain more about how you fixed this? I installed htis on a brand new 1.5 site. The only thing I have running is that is not in the original Joomla install is Jsecure and a rockettheme template. I installed this plugin, entered my UA code, enabled it, and the whole site went down. I can't access the front or back end!!!!!!

Where you put the code? its due to that you have entered into the wrong place.. its problem with the new version?

Most probably it is the problem where you have entered the code.
