in system plugins - it needs to be turned off, when running at the same time with JoomSEF


i think i don´t have it installed.?

would it help to use .htlm as suffix?

ok, I missed you are still using J1.0.x and old JoomFish. That possibly does not have this plugin.

ad 3)
no, I do not think so;

Your site does not work now, so I cannot test it.
Anyway, I have tested this on my testing Joomla 1.0.x install I cannot replicate the problem, When trying with multiple works, the string in URL is "&searchword=test+search+phrase" so that is ok.

I am not really sure if that will help as I do not rember the version history anymore, but please, make sure to upgrade to latest version.
