I have an issue where the menu item is being added to the urls repeatedly.

For example, I have a category blog but items under blog are often under urls of blog/blog/item or even blog/blog/blog/item

As you can see below


This is leading to 404s all over the place - its quite a lottery! This is also happening with a couple of other categories too.

Any suggestions?

Looking at the source code on my home page the canonical tag has /index.php at the end.

Is joomsef responsible for adding canonicals? If so, how to remove the index.php so that the canonical is www.domain.com

Hi,

I'm running JomSef 4.0.9 on Joomla 1.7

I recently upgraded from J! 1.6.5 to J! 1.7 - now, every page on my site (freshwebservices.com) is returning an error message & the expected content.

So the page opens with
<div class="error"><h2>INFORMATION</h2></div>
& then renders the content as expected.

Also, the breadcrumb trail has 404 as the last item.

Any suggestions?

Hi Jan,
Perhaps you can try this.

1) Install J! 1.6.2
2) Install JoomSEF 4
3) Upgrade manually to J! 1.6.3
4) Try to open JoomSEF configuration page

I've also just encountered this problem - I suspect its got something to do with upgrading J! from 1.6.2 to 1.6.3

I'm using 4.0.2 - attempts to reinstall via the Artiro control panel fail w/ a msg about "Provided Download ID ". I can't check this out because of the "config file writeable" error!

That fixed it for me but the default Joomla search mod doesn't work - returns /search.html.html?searchword=web+design

Removing the 2nd ."html" from the url still loads my 404 page.

Any suggestions?

Hi,
I'm having 404 issues. Google has the original links like so:
freshwebservices.com/clients/19-mymonthlies.html

Visiting that link => 404 with following url:
index.phpcomponent/contentcategory.html

So its looking like JomSEF is misbehaving.
My config settings are the standard:

Running J! 1.5.20 & HotProperty 1.0, with JoomSEF 3.72 + HotProperty extension (ext_joomsef3_hotproperty)

Without JoomSEF the urls are like so: www.mysite.com/component/hotproperty/?view=property&id=2

With JoomSEF all the HP urls are www.mysite.com/featured-properties/property - meaning the same property is displayed.

Now, I'm not sure what I'm not doing correctly, but is there some example documentation to get this working with HotProperty?
