Hi,
Our EU VAT ID check has stopped working although we don't know from which date. We managed to install the plugin early Nov last year and I wonder if there has been any update that would mean the olders versions stopped working?

Thanks,

OK - we got it working and everything now works as expected. The problem turned out to be something to do with the installation. During the installation, your customized version of the ps_product.php file did not overwrite the one in the administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes folder. After manually copying your version of this file to this folder, everything worked.

We have installed the EU VAT ID check component and have configured it as follows:

* tax mode is set to be "European Union mode"
* EU VAT ID custom user field is published

Q1/ Please can you clarify that the rules are implemented as follows (NOTE: We are based in the UK):

A/ VAT is payable if any of the following conditions are met:
a/ the customer is either an individual or business based within the UK
b/ the customer is an individual (i.e. they have no VAT number) and is within the EU

B/ VAT is NOT payable if any of the following conditions are met:
a/ the customer is either an individual or business OUTSIDE the EU
b/ the customer is a business INSIDE the EU and has a valid EU VAT number.

Q2/ Is there any other configuration that must be done other than the 2 items listed at the top of this post?

The reason for asking is that the component does not work properly in all cases. It works in the following cases:

A/ The customer is OUTSIDE of the EU. In this case, no VAT is charged which is CORRECT.
B/ The customer is within the UK. In this case, VAT is charged which is CORRECT.

But it does not work in the following case:

A/ the customer is a business WITHIN the EU, but OUTSIDE of the UK and has a valid EU number. In this case, VAT still appears in the last step of the checkout process. The custom field correctly shows up on the customer information page, and if I add a correct VAT number and then submit the form, I am allowed to proceed through the checkout process. However, when I come to the last step of the checkout, the VAT is shown but it should not be. If I enter an incorrect VAT number, the system correctly responds that the VAT number is invalid.

Please can you advise.

Thanks
