ALL NEW SEF URLS are ...

So my client called and she cannot add any more content as the new SEF link results in a 4094.

this is out of the blue with no changes, upgrades etc. that could have caused it.

this happens with any new URL ( content, mosets, etc)

I upgraded Joomsef to todays version. but it did not help.

the site is Joomla 1.5.21, PHP Version: 5.2.17

Any new content IS assigned a SEF URL, so it is in the database, and shows as the SEF link in the front end but is 404.

also the Joomsef 404 redirect is also not working, and was working before this.

ALL previously created URLS are fine.

Example NEW URL's:

Contests/Contests/rrrrrrrrrr-rrr.html

index.php?option=com_content&catid=54&id=1824&task=view&view=article&Itemid=141

----------------------------------------------

Using the non-sef url wont work because it redirects to the sef-url and fails (404)

If I turn off apache mod rewrite in the global config, the results are the same.

if i also turn off sef urls in the global config, the new urls function properly and look like this. so i believe the problem IS the joomsef.

(/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1824:rrrrrrrrrr-rrr&catid=54:contests&Itemid=141)

HELLLLP!

NOTE I cleared both sef url cache and system cache when checking results each time so it would not be a factor.

did i forget any crucial info?
