TOPIC: Issues setup/layout/link

Issues setup/layout/link 11 years, 1 month ago #38389

Hi,

I've been fiddling a bit with various reservation solutions for our J!2.5 site.
We have only 1 scout-cottage for rent, and like the ArtioBooking for this.

However - I have a few questions on How-To/Can this be done:

1:
I first tried the Book It Free because the v.2 is still marked as beta (for the free DL)
Here, I could create custom/ Extra Fields - np.

But, I then uninstalled this version, installed the v2. and now the Extra Fields 'just' shows my entire admin area of Joomla! ??

How to fix this please?

2:
As we wish for people to be able to just reserve and not pay online, we wish for the customer form to *not* include the payment table.
At the moment, the table is there - showingthe label, but the table itself is empty - only for 1 reservation...
If customer makes 2 or more reservations, the 1st payment table still empty - but the next payment table is there - in full.

How can we remove these all together?

Also, in table "reservation", item price and tax labels are shown...
As we do not want online payment - how do we remove these?

3:
If customer (from the cust. form) cancels from the top (big red X-icon), he/she is directed to the list page.
How can we make this direct to detail page?
(we don't use the list at all :/ )

Also, if cust. cancels by removing current reservation on the customer form (little red X-icon), he/she is directed to an empty page saying
"You have no items to reserve"

This text is not found in the language file.

How can we make this direct back to details page?
(alternatively: where we do we translate this text?)

4:
After clicking the "Boot It" -button, a modalbox appears.
IF clicking the "Save and continue reservation", the box goes all white, stays - and nothing else happens.

I can close the box, and click Book it -button again - same modal box appears
- but it now have the headline of the customer form (about filling in personals).

How to fix this?

5:
As this being a free extension - I really don't mind having the developer text/backlink in the pages.
BUT: is it possible to have it just 1 or 2 line rows further down?
It's not too pleasent for the eye to have it as "next line" right after the customer-related info....

I realize, this a lot to ask - though hoping for answers to the most of my questions ;)
I have attached scrshots for the above as extra explanation.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

We already released stable version.

1. This bug was in beta4. New stable version (2.0.0) should resolve this problem.
2. We have this feature in our TODO list. There is planned version 2.1.0. So it will be probably released in one month. 2.0.0 was release last week.
3. We never thought about this problem. Thanks that you inform us about it.
But I am not able to solve your problem easily at the moment. We will try to solve it in next version (probably 2.0.1).
If you need translate that text, you can use this pattern:
YOU HAVE NO ITEMS TO RESERVE.="You have no items to reserve."
It should work.
4. This problem is caused by javascript error. I will look on this problem and let you know.
5. Ok, I think, we can do something with this problem and prepare it also for next version.

Ok, all repairs (3, 4, 5) should be available at the end of this week.

Problem with point 4 can be solved by settings: Configuration -> Item Detail Defaults -> Multiple Reservations set to No. The booking will work with original calendar functionality where customer can select only one date interval.

Hi maju,

Fast response here - thank you :)

I read somewhere else in the forum, that the stable release was out.
I have DL the file "com_booking2_free.zip" - the text in the DL section says
"Warning: this is currently a 2.0.0-beta release for early adopters."
but maybe it's just the text, maybe release is only for paying customers, idk...

Could issues possibly be related to me 1st. installing the earlier version - then installing the v.2?

I made a workaround on the extra field issue by renaming the 'Note'field and making it required...

Anyways:
I have set config Multiple Reservations to no.
This, however does not resolve the issue, as the modal box still includes the link "save and continue", and when clicking this, issue remains...
It appears to 'only' affect users ability to check/reserve - not several - but only 1 time period *in the same calender screen*.
User can go back via menu item and reserve another time frame.
This not being an issue - just the link in the modal box...

Regarding text translation:
This was almost too easy ;)
I put in other texts too - works like a charm :)

I'm looking forward to future versions.

Again - thank you very much for your fast response!!

Hello,

Yes, stable release is out. That text in download section is old, we forget to remove it.
If you open control panel of the component, there is information about version you have installed. So if you have stable version, there should be just 2.0.0, but if it is beta version, there will be something like 2.0.0-beta4.

If you have beta version, uninstall component and download new version from DL section. New installation will only modify your old database tables, but data will be not lost.
But if you mean by 1st version Book it! 1.5.9, then it will be probably not compatible with 2.0.0.

Problem with popup will be resolved in next version and you are right it has nothing to do with this settings. This is my mistake, problem with settings is probably for another topic.
