I'm running:
- Joomla 2.5.28
- JoomSEF 4.6.2

I wanted to use JoomSEF for something very basic, to replace the 404Error message on my server. And JoomSEF was working fine, it was easy to do that, but it generated me other issue.

When I turn on the JoomSEF extensions and enable "JoomSEF Enabled? = Yes", it breaks some URLs when I'm doing a search on my Joomla site.

For example:

On my site you search for Styler/2.
www.os2world.com/homepage?searchword=styler/2

It shows you 11 results.
The newer ones has a link displayed that works fine:
eX: www.os2world.com/past-news/os2world/news...tware/styler-2-1-7-5

But on the older articles it displays a wrong URL.

For example on "A New Patch for Styler/2 " it links:
www.os2world.com/past-news/os2world/news/general

while the correct one should be:
www.os2world.com/past-news/79-general/6356-

I'm not a Joomla expert, so any tip to help me fix this issue is welcome.

By the way this happens when I enable JoomSEF functions "Global SEF URLs ". I currently have it disables for the search to work.

It seems to be related that the older articles does not have an alias, like the new ones. If I grab an old article, and Save it, it will generate the alias and the link will be displayed fine on the search.
