TOPIC: Changing "Enable Metadata generation" to "yes"

Changing "Enable Metadata generation" to "yes" 12 years, 8 months ago #27658

Have thousands of articles that use Custom URLS in JoomSEF. In the past I've had "Enable Metadata generation:" set as "no" which means that it has NOT been using the metadata information from the Custom SEF URLS, but rather from the original joomla generated article.

Going forward, I'd like to turn the "Enable Metadata generation:" to "yes" but need to know if I will then have to go back and recreate all the Metadata information in JoomSEF for all of the previous articles or will it grab the existing metadata from the article and use it in the Custom URL?

Hi,
If there's no metadata configured in your custom SEF URLs, then the metadata from articles will be used.
