TOPIC: Custom 404 redirect not working for Kunena links

Custom 404 redirect not working for Kunena links 12 years, 7 months ago #28226

Hi there,

I am using JoomSEF 3.9.4 on a Joomla 1.5.25 installation with Kunena 1.7.2 and I have the problem, that the custom 404 page does not work for wrong Kunena links.

Here is an example:
Non Kunena link with working 404 redirection:
www.diabetes-kids.de/weitere-kategorien/klinken-arzteaserc34xc

Kunena link with wrong 404 page:
www.diabetes-kids.de/forum/offene-foren/...sigkeit-66062asdsdds

Any suggestion, how to fix this issue, would be most appreciated.

With best regards

Michael Bertsch

Hi,
This is caused by Joomla trying to parse the URL that JoomSEF didn't handle. You can disable Joomla URLs parsing in JoomSEF's Configuration on the Advanced tab, it's the "Parse Joomla SEO links" option.

Hi Dajo,

thanks for the Feedback.
I checked and actually this is working, however, I can not disable this Joomla URLs parsing, because for some components like JEvents I am using the standard Joomla SEF function.

Is there any other possibility?

Best regards and have a nice day

Michael

Hi,
Unfortunately, this is currently not possible to achieve, because when Joomla parses the URL, JoomSEF doesn't know if it leads to 404 or not, so it can't display its custom 404 page.
We'll try to solve this somehow.
