miun OFFLINE A pesimist is just a well-informed realist. Posts: 563	Hello, the 404 of JoomSEF is defined as a static contect page. Does it exist in your Joomla! and is it available for public visitors? Best regards, Michal

ostenzen OFFLINE Posts: 4	Yes the 404 page exist and it is published for the public. For some reason the default 404 in the Artio JomSEF does not connect to the static content 404 page. When I created a new custom 404 page in Static Content Page it got resolved. Though I needed to go into Artio JomSEF configuration files and link the 404 page to my newly created custom static page 404 page. --Christian www.ostenzen.com

Hi,

I seem to have the same problem on my site www.fiuh.it (which runs Joomla!1.0.12 + JoomSEF 1.5.0 + JRE SEF Extended + 404 redirect).

The funny thing is that the site used to work until a couple of days ago: when someone wrote a bad url, 404 redirect did its job and started a search or redirected to another page.

Now, yesterday I have upgraded to 1.5.1, then downgraded back to 1.5.0 because of compatibility problems with JRE Sef Extended.

After this, everything works fine on the site, except the fact that the 404 page of JoomSEF is no longer reachable for public users: one has to login to see it. In this way it is useless of course.

Has someone experienced and solved a similar problem? Any ideas?

i had the same problem first it works and because of some reasons the default 404 wasn't accessible anymore...don't know why.

the fact: this default 404 page is called by \" /components/com_sef/joomsef.php\"
and there the programmes stripted out the \"Itemid\" from the calling REQUEST_URI

i don't know why it works before...but know we need the Itemid also so i change a few lines in:
\"/components/com_sef/joomsef.php\"

it has to be like this:

 
after this line: if ($sefConfig-&gt;page404 == '0') 
...
...
