Hi. I want to buy artio Joomsef and sobi2 extensions but I have a problem that artio hasn't answered on the site or I missed it. Any way. Here is the problem.

I have Joomla! 1.5.11 installed
I have sef service map 2 installed
I will have Yootheme component called Zoo at some point
I have Hot property component
I will have a forum (but not linked to joomla in any way)
I have a rocket theme template.

All payed for.

Some one told me to use sh404 sef, but being a free extension... so is the support and I don't want user-based support. From what I understand from this forums there is a problem with sef service map. Is it true? Do I need tio change my sitemap component?

And here is the real problem: I already have the joomla 1.5 core sef working fine... but I want to remove the article ids from the uri and redirect 301 all the pages to the new pages. I also want to rename the section and keep only www.site.com/section-name/article.html - is this possible?

Please let me know about the transfer from the Joomla! native sef urls to artio urls? I know I will lose some trafic, but the pagerank will transfer and that is very important for me.

answers to your questions:


This is perfectly possible with JoomSEF. Its SEF URLs will NOT contain article ID. 301 redirects from original Joomla core SEO URLs can be made to point to new URLs. This might even not be necessary, as JoomSEF can automatically redirect original Joomla URLs to new ones using 301.


Yes, this is also possible. You can use category, section, both or none. You can see these settings in free edition as well, so you can test it.


We have not tested JoomSEF with sef sevice map throughoutly. There was some problem reported recently by our user and it is still beening reviewed. There are however also other sitemap solutions that are known to be working fine, such as Joomap.

Okay. I tested the free version on my production site. Doesn't Work as expected.

Anyway I don't want to lose my SEO. Can you do this for me? Ofcourse I need 301 redirects from the old pages (about 200) to the new ones. I want to do this without htaccess and the "human factor". Can you implement this on my website?

I use www.joomlatwork.com seo patch and I want to keep using this. I don't need artio's meta tag generator...
