TOPIC: Additional values appearing after url

Additional values appearing after url 15 years, 3 months ago #5748

Hi there,

I had the demo version of joomsef up and running on the site, and it was all fine and then went with the paid for version to remove the ads, etc. But now for some reason, when I load the site all the links have additional values added to the end of the url. i.e.

www.frontend.com/our-work.html?3e2f1cb19...0d7ab52e3fc499591bff

I upgraded the entire component using the paid for component through the back end but it didn't resolve the problem. I additionally have manually gone in and over-written all the files I can see relating to the problem.

The additional numbers only appear once when you load the page on all of the links visible on that page. However as soon as you go to any link, and click on the page, the numbers then dissappear and all the links work fine. It only ever happens once, the first time the site is visited.

The site address is www.frontend.com.

If someone could please assist me with this matter it would be much appreciated.

Regards

Clayton Lloyd

Dear Clayton,

what is important to find out is wherefrom these values are originating.
JoomSEF works like this (it appends some parametric variables - we call them non-sef to URL) to prevent creating too much URLs and often duplicated (different URL for same content).

Often, such URLs may be caused by some add-on plugins or tools that append such variables e.g. for visitor monitoring purposes. Often this is done by JavaScript AFTER JoomSEF has process the URL, so we have no more control over this process.

Anyway, except it does not look sometimes too nice, it is basically nothing you should be worrying about. It will not affect your SEO.
