TOPIC: Joomsef and apache problem

Joomsef and apache problem 14 years, 5 months ago #9189

Hello,

I'ts been for hours and hours that i'm trying to find a solution to this problem which make me crazy and loose my money because my website is off...

Since i have setup joomsef 3.5.0 paid version with joomla 1.5.14 on apache/linux/plesk 9.2.3 system, i get a blank page when using my website, but it's not a regular blank page, because it appear only time to time

For exemple you can go to the main page once it will work then second or third time it will show a blank page, and in this case the only way to fix this is to restart apache, but problem is still there after some minutes

I went to check the apache logs and i found this :

[Sat Nov 21 08:52:09 2009] [notice] child pid 7619 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
[Sat Nov 21 08:52:14 2009] [notice] child pid 7620 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
[Sat Nov 21 08:52:17 2009] [notice] child pid 7654 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
[Sat Nov 21 08:52:28 2009] [notice] child pid 7656 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
[Sat Nov 21 08:52:28 2009] [notice] child pid 7657 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
[Sat Nov 21 08:52:32 2009] [notice] child pid 7659 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
[Sat Nov 21 08:52:34 2009] [notice] child pid 7658 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
[Sat Nov 21 08:52:36 2009] [notice] child pid 7664 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
...

You will tel me that my problem has nothing to do with joomsef but when i disable joomsef the problem is gone, when joomsef is enable, problem is back again....

Please help me to find the solution

Thank you very much

Erik

This might be related to some kind of accelleration software, such as eAccelerator. Please check if its installed.
Also you may try disabling cache to see if it helps.
One possibility is also problem with some specific PHP function, so changing PHP version might help. You could try with other PHP version.

Hello,

Thank you for answer, but i found the problem my self and as you said, it was a PHP issue.
The bug occure when using PHP 5.1 distrib with Plesk 9.2.

To fix this i went to www.atomicorp.com they freely provide an upgrade to PHP 5.2.x for Plesk 8 or 9.
The upgrade solve the problem of : "child pid 7657 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)" and now every thing is going fine. I hope i can help other people.
