Mambot published, I use custom redirects for my main pages, with all meta fields filled.

The only pages that show some meta are the news pages where I use the standard option to fill meta while editing the article. And yes: metadata is off in gobal config.

I use Joomsef 2.3.0.

Do you mean "Show Title Meta Tag:" and "Show Author Meta Tag:" options?

Anyway, these should not be related to this.

Make sure the JoomSEF metabot is first in the order of the mambots processing the site. Also make sure, there are no other mambots that could conflict with JoomSEF metabot. (try this by switching the other mambots off) Mostly mambots of other SEO tools can cause JoomSEF metabot to be ineffective.

Does this work for other (e.g. content not AdsManager) related pages?

I did indeed mean "Show Title Meta Tag:" and "Show Author Meta Tag:" options; they are both off in Global config.

The JoomSEF metabot is first in the "system" type on the second page, but I seem unable to move it to the first page.

I turned of every SEF related Mambot (including mossef; no idea what this one does:)), cleaned all cashes, restarded browser .... no luck.

Bump....

Any suggestions?

JoomSEF needs to be first among system mambots. That is fine enough.

One more idea - do you have the meta-tags allowed in your Joomla Global configuration?

No, all metadata is off in global config. I use Joomla 1.0.12 Stable. So in the tab metadata everything is set to "no".

I have another site with same config where Joomsef works fine....
