Hello Community,

I have just bought JoomSEF and VirtueMart Extension.
After installation the backend works fine, but on the frontend I get the following error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '=', expecting ')' in xxxxxx/components/com_sef/joomsef.php on line 1993

Please can anyone help me to understand that problem and - even more importantly - to solve it?

jaku	Hello, that parsing error might be related to specific PHP version, anyway, find the mentioned line in the joomsef.php file, there should be code function _varFilterTest(&$uri, &$failedVars = null) and simply rewrite it to function _varFilterTest(&$uri, &$failedVars) I believe that should solve your problem.

jaku	This means your server is using PHP 4. You need PHP 5 for the newest JoomSEF version. We recommend PHP 5.2.x. Please, next time, follow the forum rules: www.artio.net/support-forums/rules and inform about your versions directly. You would save both you and us some time.

jaku	Hello, sorry if the reply sounded unfriendly, that was not the point. Anyway, JoomSEF since version 3.4.0 is not PHP4 backward compatible. As you can read e.g. at www.artio.net/e-shop/joomsef/joomsef-3 in Compatibility Information, it says PHP5 needed - recommended PHP version is 5.2.x..
