i bought joomsef + virtuemart SEO and i have two problems which i'd like you to help me solve:

1st:
virtuemart simply is not active at all, i installed it but here's an example of the address of a product's page with default settings:

localhost/fudgephoto/?page=shop.product_...temid=70&lang=en


2nd:
I use separators to be able to have child menus while the parent menu is not clickable, and when joomsef is active, the separators becomes clickable and links to the homepage.

Thanks for your report.

1. Go to Manage Extensions, open the VirtueMart extension parameters and on the Variables filtering tab, remove the rule ^[a-z._-]*$ and add the rule ^[a-zA-Z0-9._-]*$ instead. Assign the page and flypage variables to the new rule.

i use joomla 1.5.18 and joomsef 3.6.4 and i confirm what i said first,
when i leave parameters as default, the parent menu becomes clikable and links to home page, i found a solution: in configuration, advanced, if i Set page base href value to "no - disable base href generation", the problem disappears, but i don't know how this option affects my ratings for SEO. can you explain it to me? and if possible, try to find out why i have to do this for this to work?

This is really strange behaviour. I've tested the base href setting and the separator works fine with any option. Anyway, the base href generation shouldn't have any impact on your page ratings, it only tells the browser, what is the base URL to use if it encounters the relative link. The "disable base href generation" option is OK for most websites - it helps fix some problems with links to images in Joomla.
But I really don't know how this could affect the separators in menu. Do you use the standard Joomla mod_mainmenu module for the menu, or some other one, like mod_exmenu?

i use default mainmenu.
and i can confirm, i have tried again, disabling joomsef makes the parent menu (separator) act normal (-> not clickable), enabling joomsef with default settings makes it become clickable and link to homepage, then leaving joomsef enabled and setting "Set page base href value:" to "no, disable base href generation" makes it become normal again ( not clickable),
i happened to find on your forum a topic with the same problem (except that, instead of using separator, the customer was using # link, which has the same effect), and someone of your own staff told him to change the option to "yes always use SEO url..." which solved his problem (unfortunately to solve mine i have to chose another option, but in the same parameter), so i don't understand why you say this parameter has nothing to do with this behavior as someone from artio himself told to do that... that's how i happened on that "solution", i didn't spend my day changing each and every parameter... :-p i'll try to find this topic again so you can talk about it with the staff member who showed this solution.
