TOPIC: refresh question

refresh question 11 years, 6 months ago #32656

I have the paid version running on my client's site. I have an issue with refreshing. When my client makes changes to her products I need to be able to refresh both the products and the catagory views in which those products are.

I thought I could do this with the automatic cache management, but for some reason I couldnt get the script to run ... but it's fine because I just set up a manual cron job on my cpanel and got it to run that way.

What are the proper settings for
"Enable automatic refresh for preview of saved category:"
"Enable automatic refresh for previews of parents of saved category:"
( under Categories)
and
"Enable automatic refresh for preview of categories of saved product:"
"Enable automatic refresh for previews of parents of categories of saved product:"
(Under Products)

... to ensure that the cron script will also refresh the category previews not just the product views

I would like to leave them all set to "No" if possible ... It doesn't mention these in the documentaion under Automatic cache refresh settings

Also I would like to ask, is there any way to do a manual refresh of every cageory and page without a) figuring out first which need to be updated or b) updating everything in the entire url list.

Hello,

ad) Automatic refresh settings

CATEGORIES:

"Enable automatic refresh for preview of saved category:" means refresh the page of category after saving of this category. In other words if administrator updates category say "A" then M-Turbo refreshes the page for category "A".

"Enable automatic refresh for previews of parents of saved category:" means refresh the page for parent category of saved category. If adminsitrator updates category say "A" which is subcategory of category "B", then M-Turbo refreshes the page for category "B" (thus its parent).

PRODUCTS:

"Enable automatic refresh for preview of categories of saved product:". It is similary to previous case. If administrator updates product which is placed in categories "A", "B", "C" ... etc. then M-Turbo refreshes the pages for categories "A", "B", "C" ...etc. . Thus, it refreshes the pages of all categories where updated product is placed.

"Enable automatic refresh for previews of parents of categories of saved product:" M-Turbo refreshes the pages of all parent categories of categories where updated product is placed. Thus, in the context of previous case they are parent of "A", parent of "B", parent of "C" ... etc.

Yes. You can use "orange" button "Refresh All Pages" on tab "Action" in the M-Turbo administration.

I'm sorry. But I don't understand what do you mean. You can use the download script for daily refreshing all pages. One of its arguments is the file with the list of ulr which have to refresh. You will find it in directory "app/code/local/Artio/MTurbo/Model/scripts/".

I dont have a button "Refresh all Pages" on the Actions Tab. I have 5 buttons, see attachment, do you mean "Cache all Pages"

When I click "Cache all pages" it recaches every page regardless of whether it needs to or not. This takes hours in my case. I was looking for a button to press which would only cache "changed" pages.

Yes. I'm sorry, I don't keep the labels of all buttons in my mind.

No. Currently, no such functionality is available.
