TOPIC: different download methods

different download methods 13 years, 1 month ago #20414

Hello,

We have successfully installed paid version yesterday. However, the online documentation does not seem updated with this latest version of M-turbo.

We would like to know what each download method correspond to, and wht are the advantages/drawbacks of each. Once all cats and products are added to the url list, we have a total of 11 000 pages to cache. Consequently speed is an important factor for us.

Thanks for letting us know

Hello,

we have implemented several method how to cache pages because default method, php function file_get_contents(), is not allowed on every hosting. Slowest way is to use "Direct Access" (via new Magento instance).

If you want to cache 11.000 pages I should recommend to
1. Submit action "Generate URL list for all websites" and files with URLs to be cached will be generated
2. Use generated file and via command wget (on linux) manually run process of generate cache from the server command line

Thanks for your answer. However i still have some questions:

1) which is the fasted download method to be used?

2) how we can set cron job , it seems not working

3) what command to be run from server. you suggested wget. can you give me some proper steps of generating cache manually as well as through cron job.

for info, the project we're working on is www.classpremium.com

thanks a lot

Does a wget "www.DOMAIN.COM/index.php/mturbo/adminhtm...d/massrefresh/" help make the downloading of that many URLs faster from the SSH/CLI?
