Had the same problem after using the automatic upgrade, but applying the new upgrade that I downloaded from your site got rid of the visible links.

Will automatic upgrade now lead to the correct file? I'm asking because I need to send a reminder to another one of your customers about making the upgrade, and I want to know if the auto upgrade will work, or if they should do it by hand.

Not sure if this is the right spot to post this because you've generously been answering my questions in three different threads, but it turns out that the problems of the modules not showing up has to do with the base href settings that are set to allow anchors within pages. (As outlined in #18 in frequently asked questions.)

When I change setting to set href base url - yes always use only base url, the variably assigned modules show up in newly created sections and in the articles in these newly created sections. Of course, the anchor tags no longer work. But, after getting the modules to show up I went back and set the base href to "no leave original" and the modules still work and so do the anchors.

I guess I'll save the purchase of direct support for another time.

I made the upgrade and I'm still getting the same results. I'll make the changes in the custom urls, but if the problem persists with all newly created sections, is this something that can be configured via paid support? I'm not convinced that the problem is not the result of a configuration error on my part, and I'd be glad to pay someone who knows what they are doing to take a look at the situation.

It gets stranger. The Joomsef metabot cannot be uninstalled from the Joomla control panel and it does not appear in my host cpanel list of plugins under joomla system plugins. When I try to uninstall it in the Joomla admin area I got a message reading "Manifest File Invalid or Not found".

I'll now follow the rest of the steps you outlined.

So, I somehow managed to have the Artio JoomSEF Metabot installed within the system plugins - I have no idea how I managed that. Do I just delete it from that location?

Very impressive response time.

I read the article in your frequently asked questions, but I didn't understand why this never happened before and it is now happening with every newly created section/category. It seemed likely that it was caused by some problem with settings or with update.

Because the site is not really in use yet, I went ahead and deleted all sef urls and cleared the cache and I'm still gettign the exact same result - modules work fine on old sections/categories and their articles, but not on new sections/categories and their articles. Looks like I'll have to repair these one at a time.

After the update to latest version of Artio JoomSEF - 3.3.0 - when I make a new content section and create articles within the new section variable modules do not show up on the newly made pages. That is, the new sections/categories and their related articles do have the modules that are assigned to every page, but they do not have the modules assigned variably. The strange part is that when I create new articles within sections and categories that existed prior to the last upgrade, the variable modules do show up.

I don't know if this is related to the update, or if a setting was changed by accident. I have created a series of test pages to demonstrate the problem. Please let me know if you want me to send the links. (I'm not listing them here, because they will be deleted within 48 hours and I have no idea how long it will take before you have a chance to check this.)

System Artio JoomSEF
Artio JoomSEF Metabot
System-SEF

Is that correct? And, am I missing a plugin?

I have the latest edition of Joomla and of Artio JoomSEF.

I enabled joomsef_metabot.php and my site crashed with the error message "Direct Access to this location is not allowed." This was the only change made on the site immediately before the crash. How do I fix this?
