Thanks for the reply, but I should have edited this post sooner as I had solved this problem. What I did was to edit the SEF URL generated and therefore create a Custom URL. This seems to work very well for me and meets all the requirements.

I did try this way first of all, but it did not appear to show on the site, only if you typed them into the address bar. Now it works, thanks

So thanks for replying and I am sorry for wasting your time
Menu items need SEF ...

** SOLVED ** Hi there, I have a site - www.motelmover.co.nz which the client has asked me to do some simple SEF so that the Content Item alias can be used after the root domain i.e. www.motelmover.co.nz/m538 . I have installed Artio and it works well, except that when I turn off (in configuration) the Show Catagory and Show Section I get less than useful URL's for the Main Menu items e,g, www.motelmover.co.nz/property-listings/2 (property-listings is the section title).

Is there a config setting I have missed to enable me to have www.motelmover.co.nz/m538 as well as www.motelmover.co.nz/leaseholds (leaseholds is the menu name) ? I can't seem to achieve the result.

I also don't want to have to add a custom URL for every new listing as this is a little too much for the 60+ client. Is there a re-direct rule that I can put in place in the htaccess file so that I can automatically convert ....co.nz/m538 to ...co.nz/leaseholds/m538 and still retain the menu item names ?

Many thanks, please clarify if I haven't been to clear about what I want to do.

Cheers, Nick
