Errors when install or upgrade 13 years, 6 months ago #21302

Hi,
I've this errors:
If install or upgrade using: Upload Package File
This error: There was an error uploading this file to the server.

If install or upgrade using: Install from Directory
This error:
Component Install: Another Component is already using Directory: "D:\Sviluppo\Siti\joomla\components\com_booking"

Component Install: Another Component is already using directory: "D:\Sviluppo\Siti\joomla\administrator\components\com_booking"

Any idea?
Ciao.

it seems you already have installed this component in past.
try to uninstall it.
if not possible, navigate to the directory:
"D:\Sviluppo\Siti\joomla\administrator\components\"
then remove the directory "com_booking"

for me this solves many issue's in past.

Hi,
Yes, that you say is what I normally do, but the problem also occurs with a new installation. As I also said in previous post: If install or upgrade using: Upload Package File --> This error: There was an error uploading this file to the server.
I also noticed that it seems necessary to clear the database and that's not good.
Ciao.

Hi, you cannot upgrade already installed component by Joomla installer. You must first unistall old a then make new installation.

Booking you can upgrade by component administrator on bookmark online upgrades. If you have paid version you can click on button upgrade and update is automatically. With free version you must download current package from Artio server and upload on the same page.

Problem with package uploading can provide this reasons:

- file permissions: go in Joomla administration on Help/System Info/Directory Permissions - all displayed directories must be writable.

- your FTP account is full (not enough disk space)

- in Joomla is turn on using FTP for working with files, go to global configuration on bookmark server and turn it off

Hi jtrumpes,
I am working on a local server. The folders and files have all the permissions. The space is more than enough, more than 240GB.
Ciao.
