TOPIC: ACL causing frontend CSS to stop working

ACL causing frontend CSS to stop working 11 years, 10 months ago #31323

Hi,

I'm using all the latest versions of all the components mentioned in this post. Also I am using Joomla 2.5 - latest version.

I'm using the component ACL (www.aclmanager.net) for two account groups to limit their access to backend components. One group has access to 4 components, the other only has access to one.

I'm also using the component called Book It! and when I limit the access to that component on either user group the frontend CSS for that component stops working for some reason. I wondered if anyone else has run into this issues and what I can do to fix it.

Thanks.

Hello, I don't know what ACL Manager exactly does. I have only one idea that it in some way blocks loading of CSS files. Try look into page head if there is.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. I have been talking to the guy over at ACL and apparently when ACL blocks access to the com_booking component at the backend it is also blocking com_booking from accessing the CSS files because they are within the com_booking backend folder.

Is there anyway to redirect where com_booking looks for the CSS files? In order to stop them being blocked when I enable ACL. Because obviously I don't want the CSS to be blocked when someone accesses the site.

Thanks.

Hello, CSS should be in front-end part of component. What Booking version do you use?

Hello,

After installation of the most recent version of ARTIO Booking and ACL 2.0 everything works fine.

Thanks for your help :)
