Hello, Do you know whether the stand alone version can support discount groups like the ones in virtuemart? e.g. I have a group of clients that I assign a shopper group in VM and when ever they purchase after logging in their prices are automatically 10% less. Whereas others see the full price.

No, this possibility isn't there. But you can create a discount voucher and sent it to concrete users. Vouchers are in percent or for concrete amount. It can be discounted only some concrete products.
As a custom modification we can change it like you wish.

I want to know the price for this change - so the shoppers that belongs to the shoppergroup gets correct prices.
