Deleting the Document and file does not delete it from the table joomdoc_file and it also does not delete the file from documents folder. Is there a patch to rectify this?

Hello,

You can set it in Options -> Documents -> File Deleting -> set Force Deleting. It should remove your files from folder and also from database table.
There is problem only in new version for Joomla 3.0, but it is not version you use.
