TOPIC: Getting a sobipro field into the url automatically

Getting a sobipro field into the url automatically 11 years, 2 months ago #31722

Hi, So far I am impressed with the joomSEF component. I did buy VIP support, but I hope I don't need it so much.
Anyway, I have this question. I am using it for a site called www.yogalocal.nl which allows people to search for a yogaclass near them.
What I would want, is that the city of the entry, which is a sobipro field, ends up in the url automatically. Can this be done?

Thanks,
Jelmar

PS I am using the sobipro plugin, and see there are different paramaters I could parse, but no way to select a field.

Hi,

This is not currently supported in our SobiPro extension. Thank you for your suggestion, we may add it in some future version.
Or if you're interested, we can implement it for you as a paid service.

How much would that cost? I am asking for the future, because I have just started out with this site. But when it will be successful, I am quite sure I would like an automated solution for this.
Thanks for the response,
Blessings,
Jelmar

I'm not sure how exactly the fields are implemented in SobiPro, but my estimation is that 1 or 2 hours would be needed to modify our extension. See www.artio.net/e-shop/support-services/joomla-related-support-1h for our support time prices.

That sounds very reasonable. Just to be clear how I would like the url to look:

www.sitename.com/sobiprocategory/sobipro_field_city/entry-title

What do you need from me to make this happen? I can just buy an hour of support time to start with?

Hi actually, I find I need more paid support. I have had joomSEF installed, but it plays naughty tricks and does not want to play nice with SobiPro. For example sometimes it causes certain entries to be locked because they are supposedly being edited by other users and so on. When I disable joomSEF the nastiness goes away.
This might have something to do with the way that I have joomSEF set up however. What I really need is some professional take a look at it and set it so it functions automatically and I don't have to touch it anymore. But I need to be guaranteed (!) that it will work well and without hiccups. Also it needs to work so I don't have to manually rewrite urls anymore. I have a live site, and it is becoming undoable to rewrite all the user entries by hand.
My site is www.yogalocal.nl
What I need doing is:
1. Update the sobipro plugin so the city of the entry owner is shown in the url.
2. Update it so that the keyword related url's, actually show the keywords in the url.
3. Configure it so that it does not cause problems, and actually work well to help along the SEO on my site. That means also that the metadata and so on should work.

Can you give me an estimate for this, so I can purchase paid support.
Thanks,
Jelmar
