Hi,

I have this problem since weeks, but now I want to work on it - because with your last version 4.2.1 should fix some things here...

My "Home" Button on www.wellnessinfo.info yould have "no text" - only the alias "home". At the config I use
- fix index.php links --> yes
- change index.php to current menu --> yes

I deleted all Home Links (I had 5 links!) - and was very excited what happened. Now I have again the following SEF's:
- Home Page ( index.php?option=com_content&view=featured&Itemid=101 )
- home ( index.php?option=com_content&id=33&view=category&Itemid=350 )
- home/herzlich-willkommen (index.php?option=com_content&catid=33&id=82&view=article&Itemid=101 )
- home/wellness-themen-wellnessinfo (index.php?option=com_content&catid=33&id=153&view=article&Itemid=101 )

Why? The itemd ID of the home page will be 101 (Main Menu).

Is this a bug? It is a little bit anoying, because I do not know which is the correct home page...

Hi,

The only correct homepage is the first link Home Page (index.php?option=com_content&view=featured&Itemid=101).

The home/herzlich-willkommen and home/wellness-themen-wellnessinfo are links to two different articles. The word "home" there is added because of the Itemid 101 being used in their non-SEF URLs.
I've checked your website and those two links are created for the two articles on your home page in the following tag:

I suppose that those links are created in your template and they use the current Itemid (which for home page is 101).

The "home" link was created (according to the trace) on the following page by a googlebot:
www.wellnessinfo.info/Thermenhotel_ist_n...d=520&hitcount=0
I don't know what that link corresponds to, but it causes the breadcrumbs to generate that "home" link.

Thx for the fast reply. I checked the page "Thermenhotel" you mentioned above. There was the category "home" selected, which was wrong. So I changed the category, deleted the SEF URL, cleared the cache and manually opened the site (via the link on the bottom left --> Thermenhotels). The link work correctly, and the Sef URL also, but in Joomsef I had 2 sef URL's for this - one with the new Item ID (Hits 0) and one with the old home ID 101 (hits 1) - you can see here:

The first URL apart from Itemid 101 also has a different category catid=33, so there's still some problem on your page generating the link with wrong category.

It's funny. The catID 33 is the old category ID ("home"), the ID 70 the new one ("themen").

When I delete the 2 SEF URL's, clear the cache, and then open the web and click on the link "Thermenhotels" - both SEF URL's were made again - and always the first SEF URL will be the one with the "HIT" (with the old home category ID). But: The article has only the new category ID 70 (category "Themen" not "Home" [33] which was the old category). In case the SEF URL has the wrong category ID, it will have also the wrong ItemID (101 instead of 341)

The funny thing is, that the SEF URL would be correct (/themen/thermenhotels-vorteile), but not the Non-Sef-URL. Looks like, Joomsef does not work correctly here... isn't it?

I don't think this is JoomSEF problem. The Trace information suggests that there is the following link located somewhere on the page and that Joomla's System - SEF plugin finds it and sends it to JoomSEF:
index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=100:thermenhotels-vorteile&catid=33:news

JoomSEF just takes it and creates a SEF URL for it. You can try disabling the System - SEF plugin to stop this URL from being processed, but that could also affect some other URLs.

The fact that the URL is found by System - SEF plugin suggests that it's located inside some article's content. You may try disabling SEF completely in Joomla's Global Configuration and then check the source code of the generated page to find the link.
