i thought the error message came from the background image so i don't try without http authentication and debug modus ...

Could this be because of wrong/incompatible background size or something similar?

After reading the FAQ I changed the file-type to JPG and set the path to "absolute", then the problem was solved.

Now I have a different problem, though..

As you can see on my attached image, my background image doesnt stretch all the way to the each side of the document. I have tried many different resolutions and all the different settings in "Background settings" in admin, but there seems to be a margin limit for the background image.

Does anyone know how to make the background fit the entire page? Also, what is the correct resolution to set in Photoshop to make the image match the resolution of the PDF-document perfectly?

Hello. The background behavior is bug, it should be streteched to whole page. It will be fixed in next release. If you supply me your e-mail, I can send you fixed version immediately.

As for DPI set in Photoshop, that really doesn't matter. Important is picture pixel size. It'll take a little experiment to find proper ratio between resolution and file size. Large picture will result in large PDF files. You can start somewhere around 500 pixels width.
Note: in my experience, Photoshop makes JPG files much larger than for example IrfanView. You should try save files in Irfan View in cca 95% quality.

i can't figure out what is wrong with you scripts, i think you will be able to generate background image easily. maybe you need to change the setting, turn off http authentication. or give other software a try.
