Hi there,

I seem to be having some problems with my 404 error pages on my site. This is a serious problem to me because a lot of sites link to mine, but after installing JoomSEF it seems that all the old links go to 404 pages, as opposed to just going back to the home page.

Here is an example:

www.carcomputer.co.uk/component/page,sho...irtuemart/Itemid,26/

However, when I manually enter in a URL that doesn't exist, such as www.carcomputer.co.uk/23y4twhfcvnbi3rwad/, it redirects to the home page if it can't find anything.

I have checked with my host and they say that everything is okay their end, so this has led me to believe it is something I need to change in JoomSEF.

I hope someone can help me as this is causing me a lot of grief! I look forward to a response. Thanks,

At approximately 1pm (GMT) today, whenever I clicked on a Virtuemart link on my site it would return an error. Although I can't remember what the error said, it was related to Line 233 on com_virtue.php (or something like that). After disabling Joomla search engine friendly URLs, the site seemed to work, but I ended up with Virtuemart's usual long URLs.

What solved the problem for me was noticing there was an update to the Virtuemart SEF extension I purchased from Artio. As soon as I have done the update, it worked fine for me and my site was back up and running.

What is worrying is that is this kind of thing going to happen frequently? Will JoomSEF be updated and totally bring my site down, without me noticing?

Many thanks,

Hi there,

I recently purchased JoomSEF and the Virtuemart extension and I am extremely pleased with it as it works almost perfectly! However, I am experiencing one problem and I am not sure why it is happening. When the component created all the URLs most of the addresses were as follows:

www.mydomain.com/shop/category/product

However, on the odd few products, the URL is:

www.mydomain.com/home/category/product

Normally, this wouldn't bother me too much but it seems to cause problems in generating the flypage for the product as it shows another flypage to the one that I have made for the products.

I would be extremely grateful if you could shed some light on this problem. I thank you for this amazing component.
