I also upgraded through the admin of Joomla from Artio and the two buttons I had
wrapping my Amazon Affiliate sites are now links that duplicate the first wrapper button on
my menu, hence I unpublished the other wrap buttons. I have no other components on the
site that work with SEO, so I point my troubles to JoomSEF. I do not enjoy the admin update
feature as it appears to allow me to have bleeding edge releases. I need a way to back up
as I did not have 1.5 registered version sitting around for me to re-install. Please advise - I
would like to have a way to download previous registered versions - as I am not wanting to
be a BETA tester. Please help...

Has this issue been identified? I have had it happen to me as well.
I am using 1.0.12, but wanting to upgrade my Joomla to 1.0.13.

In the admin of Joomla 1.0.12, I updated some SEFs and canceled
the requests to make a 301 redirects.

Soon after, my site went blank with the same T_STRING error in this thread.

I dropped the database and recovered, from nightly backup, to get my site
back on-line. I did not try the cache turn on/off solution as I want all to
work completely.

Great component. However, I great difficulty using symbols in my contents. The Bot likes to convert ® (Registered Trademark Symbol) into ®. Please advise this also happens on the Copyright symbols. Please let me know what I must update to keep this from happening.

P.S. - the symbols look fine in while viewing content in the administration areas, but always have the preceding  when included in content. Article titles do not allow the use of the long form of (& c o p y ;) to create symbols. So that work around does not suit my needs. I need all content parsed by ARTIO bot to not change the symbol by adding a preceding Â.
