TOPIC: K2 Category URL Error

K2 Category URL Error 11 years, 1 month ago #37873

Hi all. I have Joomla 2.5.9, ArtioSEF 4.4.0, and Artio K2 Extension 3.0.13

No matter what I do or how I configure the K2 extensions options, I keep getting duplicate categories in my URLs. The subcategory is listed first followed by the menu items after it, such as this:
theholidaze.com/portugal/countries/southern-europe/portugal/lisbon-a-visual-travel-inspiration

I've tried turning off categories and every applicable setting I can find but nothing makes any difference (see attached image). Can you please let me know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi,

The URL is by default constructed like this:
domain.com/(menu item)/(category)/(subcategories)/(item)

So if you want to remove the first part, open JoomSEF's Manage Extensions page, there open the K2 extension parameters and on the Common tab disable the "Add menu title to URL" option.

After making any change in the settings you need to update or deleted the already created SEF URLs using JoomSEF's URLs Manager, so they can be recreated with the new configuration. Also make sure to clear JoomSEF's cache and any other caching plugins you may use.

YES!! Thank you so much dajo, I really appreciate the help! You were right, the one thing I had missed was the "Add menu title to URL" option on the Commons page. After fixing that and clearing my cache everything is working perfectly now, thanks again!
