Hi, I am having problems with 301 redirects I have setup due to a new website design.

An example of an old page from a previous website is below.

OLD URL: www.capsicumcooking.com/about.htm?sm[p1][category]=411
301 Setup: www.capsicumcooking.com/careers-in-industry

Actually goes to: www.capsicumcooking.com/about-us

Joomsef seems to be ignoring everything after the ?

Does all this make sense as there are a lot of URL's that need to be redirected to ensure we dont lose rank

What method do you use for your 301 redirects? If you use the "Manage 301 Redirects" page you can't achieve this, because it can't handle URLs with query variables.
You need to use either the Aliases feature or set your own custom .htaccess rewrite rules. For more information about the Aliases feature, see our documentation at: www.artio.net/joomsef/documentation#aliases

Thx for the response, I have added 2 aliases (see attached and below)

1 - www.capsicumcooking.com/about-test.html
2 - www.capsicumcooking.com/about.htm?sm[p1][category]=490

1 - works fine
2 - shows a 404 error?

However that alias of #2 url still shows a 404 error?

Any ideas?

I've checked it and found out that JoomSEF currently doesn't support nested arrays in URL alias's query string. This will be fixed in next version.
In the meantime you'll need to set up some custom rewrite rules in your .htaccess file for such URLs.
