Hi all!

I just upgraded my ARTIO JoomSEF to latest versions (3.5.0) as well as the Kunena extension (2.0.5). With the new upgrades I felt to clean up old urls and caché, and I get an odd surprise when I see the kunena extension has stopped showing the categoríes on URLs.

For example, the forum is about a game series known as S.T.A.L.K.E.R. which has various games. So for example on Category S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat and SubCategory General, there should be an url like domain.com/foros/stalker-call-of-pripyat/general.php. As well, on S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky and SubCategory (not even talking about child, but it happens the same), it should be domain.com/foros/stalker-clear-sky/general.php.

Problem is, ARTIO JoomSEF is now getting domain.com/foros/general.php for both categories, and the problems happens also if there is a topic with the same name. All this happened with the default configuration. How can I deal with this? Some needed change of the htaccess file from upgraded versions?

Thanks for your time,
Davide

Hello,

check the Kunena extension settings. It is possible to define showing of all categories. (as you can see at these forums)
If you cannot find it or it does not appear to work, I would try uninstalling and reinstalling the extension.

Thanks for your help Jan.

I have tried uninstalling the extension and installing from ARTIO JoomSEF panel and nothing changes. Same when I uninstalled it and installed from the installer itself.

The parameters I see from the Extension Manager for the Kunena Extension v.2.0.5 are Exclude do action from URL, Exclude ID from URL, Reduce URL count, Smart URLs to messages. Nothing more, apart from the Common Panel options :(

Hello,

I have just revised the code of the extension.
Well, it uses currently uses the direct parent category, so having
domain.com/foros/stalker-call-of-pripyat/general.php
and
domain.com/foros/stalker-clear-sky/general.php
should wotk fine. Also, you are right, there is no configuration option. The category should be included always, when catid variable is part of the URL.

Maybe you could post the original version (non-sef) of the link?

Hi Jan thanks for your help!

You can check my site forums at stalkerhispano.com/foros.php

And now some non-SEF urls:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. OnLine > General :: stalkerhispano.com/index.php?option=com_...howcat&catid=185

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat > General :: stalkerhispano.com/index.php?option=com_...howcat&catid=183

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky > General :: stalkerhispano.com/index.php?option=com_...howcat&catid=164

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl > General :: stalkerhispano.com/index.php?option=com_...howcat&catid=104

Moreover, although I am not 100% sure about this, on kunena latest message module the SEF URLs where showing correctly (more mystery to the case :)). But again, I can't confirm this 100%.

There will be a new version of the extension, or it is some kind of misconfiguration by me?

Thanks for your time,
Davide

Yes, the problem here is, that the last (thread parent) category is taken, which is in all 4 cases "general".
I guess the extension will need a bit more expanding.

So far, you could only change it by renaming the categories.
But we will try to come with the extension update soon, that will have more configuration options, so it could include the whole category tree.
