why is that ? i have paid for this and it has broken meta data!

What is wrong with it?
The " is correct escaping for ".
As regards the [li] and similar, just add those to "ignored" words in VirtueMart extension settings.
(the extension supposes, that in short porduct description - on what it bases the desc metadata - there are not HTML or other tags used)

that space at the keywords ( which happens because of "ignored" words ) doens not have problems with search engines ?

Spaces are simply ignored.
However, it would be okay to make sure either no tags are present there or that they are listed in ignored words.
