Hi,
i set Title , Description and Keywords for the products and if i see the html code generated is all right but if i use a spider simulator nothing is right, we find a description of category as meta description, i find title as the name of category instead the title that i set.

For example i try
www.seoutility.com/it/tools/ottimizzazio...pider_simulator.aspx
or
www.tuttowebmaster.it/strumenti/checkup_sito.php

why this???

Hello,

I do not know - what I am sure about is the fact, that in our code, there is no differentiation on who is viewing the page. Whether it is bot or human. So I am unable to give you reasonable answer.

Maybe there is problem in what you see - did you clear all caches, incl. your browser cache before comparing the results?

Or maybe you are using some other component / plugin that could differentiante between types of visitors?

I noticed that if i insert category description in virtuemart plugin runs but after something.. So spiders
catch the frist meta generated then the plugin override this meta so we view in html code title and description that we write in artio.
Maybe virtuemar has a meta generator inside...

Hi,

I have just tested the spider simulator you mentioned (seoutility) on our own site, also using JoomSEF + VM.
I made the test with 2 URLs:
www.artio.net/services/software-development (com_content)
www.artio.net/e-shop/joomsef/joomsef-3-4-3 (com_virtuemart)

In both cases, the spider has shown exactly same results as what I can see on "display page source code".

So I guess the problem is hidden somewhere in your site - maybe you have installed some other plugin or there is some code in your template or somewhere that causes that behaviour. What I can say is, it seems not to have anything to do with Joomla Core, VirtueMart or JoomSEF.

In case you would be interested, our expers could help you debug and analyze your site code, but that would be a paid service of course. If interesed you can mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to agree on that.

the new relase of virtuemart 1.1.4 is the problem..
In a new installation whitout plugins I test this version on www.spider-simulator.com you can view in the results the url non sef, instead with virtuemart 1.1.3 all is right.
Now i understand where is the problem in new version of virtuemart, at this moment is not compatibile with any sef engine, I test the native sef of joomla and there is the same problem, users view the correct meta and spiders view non sef urls non sef meta.
